2025 Summer Intern
Parth Patel
This summer, we have the pleasure of working with Parth Patel as our student intern. Parth joins us amidst graduate studies at Morgan State University where he is pursuing a Masters in Landscape Architecture. This is a sort of second career for Parth, who studied and practiced architecture for nearly a decade before deciding to pursue an MLA. Parth helped co-found and teach at the Environment Center for Art and Design (ECAD) in Nandigram, India, with his late mentor Professor Mahendra Parekh, AIA Emeritus (former dean of Morgan’s School of Architecture & Planning and past president of Baltimore AIA). This week, our team made a pilgrimage to visit the home that Professor Parekh designed for himself in Baltimore’s Mount Washington neighborhood, where JCLA recently designed a series of garden rooms that better integrate exterior and interior living spaces (in the background of this photo). Parth’s design work demonstrates a sensitivity to materiality, insights into regional, vernacular building traditions and a passion for drawing and sketching.
