Campus Sustainability
We recently facilitated a workshop at the University of Richmond aimed at advancing sustainability through campus design. Workshop participants evaluated an array of landscape strategies for delivering ecological services, promoting well being and boosting the resiliency of the campus’ built environment. Students, faculty and administrators from across campus participated.
The University is currently renovating Boatwright Library with Taylor & Parrish, a Richmond-based construction company. Working in collaboration with StudioMB architects (who lead the design team for the renovation project), we are helping to rethink “Boatwright Beach”--a sunny landscape overlooking the campus’ beautiful Westhampton Lake. The renovated landscape will improve circulation and access, while establishing a lush, bio-diverse plant community for cooling/shade, stormwater filtration and hosting the campus community.
