Ardsley Village Residence
This project situates the bold new architectural masses of a family residence within a wooded parcel in Westchester Co. Outdoor living and play extends easily from interior spaces into a shaded woodland garden, on one side of the house, and a sunny hillside meadow, on the opposite side. A lush mixed screen of conifers and broadleafed evergreens creates a sensuous garden backdrop while also ensuring privacy from neighboring properties. The palette of herbaceous species in each of the major microclimates trends towards native species to provide food and habitat for birds and insect pollinators.
