Job Shadow Week at JCLA
LAST WEEK, Jonathan Ceci Landscape Architects welcomed three landscape architecture students as part of MD ASLA Job Shadow Week: MLA student Melissa Martinez-Jeske from Morgan State University, and junior Mia Selby and freshman Raphael Frank from UMD.
Representing a range of backgrounds and experience levels, the students joined JCLA for a typical Friday in our Greenmount West studio, where they experienced several phases of our work—from storyboarding and developing a CD set in CAD to reviewing submittals during the CA process and sitting in on a consultant team meeting.
Throughout the day, the students connected one-on-one with members of our Baltimore team to learn about our range of project types and stages. Over lunch, the students shared their portfolios, before we broke out the trace to sketch paving concepts and details for a residential garden project.
Thanks to Melissa, Mia, and Raphael for spending the day with us—your curiosity and energy were inspiring!
