Seeking Senior LA | Tech Lead

JONATHAN CECI LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS  is seeking a senior-level landscape architect to take a leading role in the technical development and documentation of complex, design-driven projects. This position is ideal for a landscape architect who enjoys making ambitious ideas buildable — someone who finds satisfaction in construction detailing, grading resolution, planting and soil design, and the disciplined production of clear, coordinated construction documents. Our projects are layered and demanding; success in this role requires comfort with complexity, direct communication, and proactive leadership. This role will work directly with the principal to shape designs and the technical direction of projects and help strengthen the firm’s documentation standards as we continue to grow.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Shepherd visionary design concepts into built form

  • Take technical ownership of projects from design development through documentation

  • Lead the resolution of grading, drainage, soils, planting, and constructability challenges

  • Develop, coordinate, and review construction details, drawings, and specifications

  • Identify technical risks early and address them decisively

  • Provide clear technical direction and mentorship to junior staff

  • Coordinate with consultants and respond directly to contractor and agency questions

  • Uphold and help advance office standards for documentation quality and clarity

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A minimum of 8 to 12 years of professional experience in landscape architecture

  • Demonstrated experience leading the technical documentation of built projects

  • Strong command of grading design, planting design, soil design, and construction detailing

  • Experience writing, editing, or coordinating technical specifications

  • Comfort making clear decisions and standing behind technical solutions

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Rhino and Revit experience a plus)
