The Reflection Pond
In the latter part of 2023, we advanced our vision plan for Clemson University's iconic Reflection Pond into a detailed technical design for a major renovation project. In partnership with WK Dickson engineers, we identified essential improvements that are needed to make the pond more sustainable, accessible and valuable as a campus gathering space. The renovation will resculpt the pond’s edges to create new experiences and new ways of occupying the edge with both intentional gathering spaces for groups and pockets or nooks for individual retreat, all in support of the University’s goal of using this feature to promote the well being of students and the broader campus community. The renovation, which is planned for 2024, will also renew the pond’s water systems for public safety, ease of maintenance and to make it more efficient with water resources.
