Kent Narrows
Kent Narrows is a growing community on the Chesapeake Bay in Queen Anne’s County. Historically, it was a working waterfront with an active fishing industry. In recent decades it has evolved into a significant hub for tourism, entertainment and recreational boating. The Kent Narrows Foundation commissioned JCLA and Gable Signs to develop a precinct vision that would distill a stronger sense of place with more intuitive navigation for pedestrians, motorists, bicycles, paddlers and boaters. Design proposals include selective shoreline enhancements to promote access and restore bay habitats, a network of wayfinding signage and branded pedestrian corridors that create a fun, festive atmosphere while staying true to the flavor and feel of this Eastern Shore community.
