Mount Vernon Studio
Situated at an old carriage house in historic Mount Vernon in Baltimore, this landscape design transforms an underutilized urban yard into an outdoor living-working space for a couple of artists. The upper terrace features a lily pond, a bluestone terrace and lush garden plantings. At the highest point of the site, we situated a perched fire pit. In order to make the lot better serve the everyday needs of the owners, the lowest terrace was developed as a multipurpose forecourt with an outdoor sculpture studio and a flexible parking pad that can easily be transformed into an event space and outdoor gallery for the owner's art shows.
