Rowan University | Campus Transformations

Rowan University is experiencing dramatic growth. While the campus has extensive land area, much of the campus core is situated in a flood plain. Motivated by a series of destructive storm events, the University determined that future growth and construction would henceforth be informed by landscape ecology; stormwater management would be integrated into the campus fabric both as green infrastructure and as valuable campus open space. The resulting master plan re-envisions the central campus as a thriving stream valley that integrates riparian ecology with lively social spaces.
