AS PART OF A MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM tasked with redeveloping Johns Hopkins University’s Blackstone building into a boutique hotel, Jonathan Ceci Landscape Architects is guiding the transformation of civic spaces and semi-private outdoor terraces into a branded, sophisticated urban environment. New streetscapes will blend seamlessly with the adjacent corridors along North Charles and Thirty Third Streets. Communicating with the hotel lobby, an outdoor living room terraces offers hotel guests a perched overlook onto Hopkins’ Homewood Campus and the bustling activity of Charles Village. As part of an expanded restaurant venue, an outdoor dining terrace sits nestled amidst lush plantings along Thirty Third Street. The new entry plaza on North Charles is marked by a monumental granite stair and sculptural plinth and graced with plantings that make for a memorable arrival experience.
